Jaded Ramblings -- Recovery Ruminations

Ok. So I underwent a major operation one week ago and am coming along pretty well.  Recovering is a process in itself and I still have quite a way to go before I'm completely back to my old self again.  In other words, I have nothing but time on my hands.  I am limited, however, to what I can do during that time.  One thing I've spent alot of time doing, of course, is watching TV.  Well actually it's been more like flipping through the channels because THERE IS NOTHING ON TV DURING THE DAY.

So many mornings over the last several years I would head out the door for work and wonder what I was missing on TV.  Perhaps a unique cookshow? Maybe an insightful history documentary? What about a classic movie? A re-run of the Smurfs? I used to believe that all the best stuff came on TV while I was slaving away at my job.  Either TV networks heard that I will be around the house for the next several weeks and changed their programming, or I was just plain wrong.  I'm guessing it's the latter.  You would think that out of eleventy-million channels, there would be ONE with something worth watching.  It's a good thing you don't get paid to think.  The reality is, TV sucks.

To keep myself from pushing all the TV's out of the window, I've spent quite a bit of time on the Internet.  I've never read so many Facebook status updates and Tweets in my life!  I have played every kind of "Ville" game there is and have found so many people from elementary school, I think when I retire from teaching I will work as a private investigator.  It's amazing how much time you can waste just wasting time.

The bright side is that I have caught up on my writings, and have really logged some reading hours.  Reading books and writing are 2 of my favorite things to do and it always seemed that there weren't enough hours in the day to really devote the time that I wanted.  Between work, volunteer activities and grad school, I was burning the candle at both ends.  Now? I'm a witness to that fact that there are MORE THAN ENOUGH hours in a day; maybe even too many.  Since I'm only 7 days in, I still have plenty of time to find other things to occupy my time.  I am, however, proud of the fact that during my TV and internet time I have not made one purchase... yet.

Remember When?

Memory is a very powerful thing.  You hear a song that you knew 10 or 20 years ago and you still remember all the words and or what you were doing when it came on or what was going on in your life around the time when you first heard it.  You smell something familiar and it takes you back to your childhood or your first year of college.... And in those moments of reminiscing, the memories -- good or bad-- are just as strong as they ever were.  They may even feel like they're taking place all over again.  You may feel the same feelings or think the same thoughts.  Or maybe in reflecting you gain a new perspective or realize something that you missed all those years ago.  Taking a trip down memory lane, be it painful or pleasant, should help us to see how far we've come, what things really matter, what we still need to do, etc.

Isn't it funny how sometimes you don't even have a say as to whether you feel like playing remember when?  All of a sudden you will just hear or see something that sets off the memory trigger and there you go....
Lately I have been remembering alot about my childhood; favorite books I used to read, shows I used to watch, songs I used to sing.... It's like my life is flashing before my eyes.  I go back to a simpler, much more innocent time.  Fond memories of love and childhood freedom -- I can't help but smile and get a little misty-eyed.  Why does adulthood come so quickly?

Ladies can we talk for a minute? Plus and... Sinus

It’s that time of year again. Watery eyes, runny nose, sneezes, itchy throat. Yep, it’s allergy season. If you’re anything like me, Spring can be very unfriendly with it’s blooming trees and pollen and all. Maybe you’ve joined the crowd of walking medicine cabinets using nasal sprays/anti-histamine tablets/liqui-gels/eyedrops, etc. or maybe you’re just suffering through refusing to medicate yourself. Either way, I’ve got something for you.

Ardyss Plus is a liquid multivitamin formulated in a base of antioxidants and minerals. It strengthens the immune system and is wonderful for those folks that dislike or have difficulty swallowing pills. In addition, Ardyss Plus is a wonderful supplement for those like me who suffer from allergies and sinusitis.

Because Ardyss Plus is liquid it is absorbed into the bloodstream in a matter of minutes. No waiting for time-release tablets to move through your system, no ingesting multiple medications to find relief. Ardyss Plus is a citrus flavored beverage and can be mixed with a glass of juice or water. 2 capfuls a day, and you’re on your way to better health and allergy relief. Ardyss Plus contains all natural ingredients and is an excellent alternative for those who want to put down the prescriptions. I place my approval and recommendation on this product not only as a distributor of Ardyss International, but also as a (happy) consumer. Get yours today www.thecurvefactor.net

S-U-C-C-E-S-S

There’s much to be said about 3rd party validation, particularly when it comes to home based businesses. Of course, as an independent distributor/entrpreneur/owner/operator, etc. your word is good enough but it surely doesn’t hurt to have your business featured in (and on the cover) of a national magazine. It speaks volumes about the validity and credibility of your organization and it also helps to shut up some of the loudest naysayers.

Having Ardyss featured in Success from Home magazine is huge in terms of marketing and advertising. It also provides the opportunity to expose more people to the business opportunity. Many people, especially in this economy, are looking for a vehicle to provide them with extra income, flexibility and security and Ardyss International does just that. It may sound like a cliche but it’s true that there is no recession on looking good. The nutritional products and reshaping garments were designed to improve health and reveal the natural inner beauty. When you look good you feel good and vice versa. Ardyss is something kinda special and you can read all about it in the latest issue of Success from Home magazine. Pick up your copy today!

The Mouse Whisperer

One of the amazing things about children is how fearless they are.  Creatures, critters, and creepy crawlies are no match for curious preschoolers.  Let me set the scene: It's a normal day at school, we're in the middle of singing the "Hello Everybody" song during our morning meeting.  I notice a few kids huddled up very intently.  Upon my inquiring as to why they were not participating with the rest of the class, I thought I heard one of them mumble something about a mouse.  I posed the question again of course because I was certain that my ears were playing tricks on me and again I heard something that sounded like mouse.  I was preparing to repeat the question a 3rd time, when one of my kiddies decided to save me the trouble by grabbing said mouse and holding it up to my face.

It has always been my belief that if such horrible things ever took place while I was in the middle of class that I would keep my composure, demonstrate bravery in the face of danger, and be strong for my students.  Yeah, that didn't happen.  Upon having Speedy Gonzalez thrust in my face, I immediately went into panic mode and yelled out something along the lines of "drop that thing and everyone get out of the classroom now!"  He was removed from our classroom and peace was restored but needless to say I upset the children who were otherwise handling the whole thing pretty well and the rest of the day was filled with questions about what should be done if the mouse comes back.

In my renewed calmness I assured them that Mickey was now resting in peace and would not be joining us again.  I couldn't help but wonder though if there will be another day when I am face to face with the furry faced intruder.

And Le'Vive Goes On...

So we already discussed the beauty of Le’Vive. Well, just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Ardyss International has introduced two follow ups to the wonder drink. Now Le’Vive is “thrice as nice.” Say hello to Le’Vive Green and Le’Vive+ (plus). They each have their own health benefits and of course different tastes but, no worries, these delicious beverages are not intended to replace for the original Le’Vive, but rather to supplement it. Just one more way that Ardyss is improving us from the inside out and becoming a leader in the health and wellness industry.
